We are looking for an experienced Reactive Repairs Scheduler/Planner to take ownership of forward planning for a large domestic repairs operation. This role is primarily about planning ahead, reviewing jobs as they are raised on the schedule board, allocating them to the correct trade, and building efficient workloads across a large team of 30-40 trade operatives. While there will be some re-planning during the day, the emphasis is on getting the plan right in advance so the operation runs smoothly.
This is a key control role within a fast-paced reactive repairs environment, suited to someone who understands trade allocation, geography, and productivity at scale.
The Role
The purpose of the role is to turn incoming reactive repair orders into structured, efficient schedules before the day starts. You will review repair details, identify the correct trade, group jobs geographically, and build balanced workloads that maximise output and minimise wasted travel time. You will also respond to changes on the day, such as emergencies, access issues, or cancellations, but the success of the role is measured by how well the work is planned before operatives arrive on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Forward planning reactive repair jobs as they are raised on the schedule board
- Allocating work to the correct trade across a team of 30-40 operatives
- Grouping jobs geographically to maximise productivity and reduce travel time
- Building balanced daily workloads based on trade, location, and availability
- Reviewing job information to ensure correct trade attendance first time
- Making limited re-planning adjustments during the day where required
- Maintaining accurate schedules and updates on the job management system
- Monitoring workload coverage and flagging capacity or skill gaps in advance
- Working closely with supervisors and operations teams to keep plans aligned
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in reactive domestic repairs scheduling or planning
- Strong understanding of trade allocation and repair triage
- Ability to plan efficiently for large operative teams
- Excellent administration and IT skills, with strong attention to detail
- Confident working with scheduling boards, job systems, and mapping tools
- Able to think geographically and strategically, not just reactively
- Calm, organised, and comfortable working under pressure
Why This Role?
- A senior scheduling role with real influence over productivity
- Focus on forward planning, not constant firefighting
- Opportunity to work at scale within a large repairs operation
- Clear progression into senior planning, operations, or performance roles
If you enjoy building smart schedules, planning ahead, and making reactive repairs work efficiently at scale, this role offers responsibility, visibility, and impact.
