About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled BIM Technician to join our Leeds or Manchester studio. In this role, you will focus on creating and maintaining high-quality 3D models in Revit, collaborating with the design team to translate 2D layouts into precise landforms and detailed models. This position requires expertise in 3D modelling and a passion for delivering accurate and visually compelling outputs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed Revit models for landscape architecture projects.
- Translate 2D drawings and sketches into accurate 3D models of landforms and design elements.
- Produce visually compelling 3D visualizations to support design development.
- Work closely with the design team to ensure accurate implementation of project designs.
- Assist in the preparation of technical drawings and documentation using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Maintain consistent communication with project teams to deliver reliable BIM outputs.
- Ensure all models and documentation align with Gillespies’ BIM standards and workflows.
- Perform basic clash detection and coordinate with the BIM Coordinator for issue resolution.
- Ensure that all deliverables meet project deadlines and quality requirements.
- Stay updated with Revit and other relevant software tools, implementing improvements where applicable.
- Assist/support in the delivery of training programme devised by the BIM Manager / Coordinator.
About you
- Proven experience as a BIM Technician, preferably within landscape architecture or design studios.
- Experience working on medium to large-scale projects using BIM software.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; familiarity with Rhino, Sketchup and other visualization tools such as Lumion and Twinmotion are a plus.
- Strong understanding of 3D modelling workflows and landform creation.
- Familiarity with BIM standards, such as ISO 19650, is desirable.
- Detail-oriented and capable of producing high-quality 3D models.
- Effective communicator and team player with a collaborative mindset.
- Self-motivated and organised, with the ability to manage priorities under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Architecture, Landscape Architecture or design related field.
- Additional certifications in Revit or BIM are advantageous.
