The Role
As Finance Manager, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day financial activities of the business, ensuring accurate financial records, supporting decision-making and maintaining effective financial controls.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration
- Overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Processing invoices, supplier payments and reconciliations
- Monitoring cash flow, forecasting and financial planning
- Preparing monthly financial reports and supporting management accounts
- Managing company expenses and financial records
- Assisting with VAT returns and maintaining compliance
- Liaising with external accountants, suppliers and stakeholders
- Supporting payroll administration when required
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Accounts Manager, Bookkeeper or similar finance position
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Experience with accounting software, including Sage or similar systems
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- A proactive approach and confidence working independently
- High levels of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information
Desirable
- AAT qualification or equivalent accounting experience
- Experience preparing management accounts and financial reporting
- Knowledge of cash flow forecasting and budget management
- Experience working within an SME environment
