We’re supporting a local primary school to recruit a dedicated and skilled Safeguarding and Attendance Officer to join their team on a permanent, term-time basis (37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year). This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of children across the school and nursery.

The Role

As the school’s Safeguarding and Attendance Officer, you will work as part of the Safeguarding and Attendance Team, acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) and promoting the highest standards of pupil welfare. You’ll coordinate safeguarding procedures, improve attendance, and support children and families through early intervention and pastoral care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), ensuring effective safeguarding practice
  • Monitoring and improving pupil attendance and punctuality
  • Conducting home visits and liaising with parents as part of safeguarding and attendance duties.
