Gillespie Recruitment are working with a forward-thinking residential care provider seeking a Registered Manager to lead a 4-bed children's home in Derby, specialising in supporting young people with complex needs and trauma backgrounds.

Your Role as Registered Manager

  • Deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care and ensure full regulatory compliance
  • Lead, develop and retain a skilled and motivated care team
  • Develop bespoke care plans addressing each young person’s unique needs
  • Ensure the home achieves a minimum Good rating from Ofsted
  • Oversee budgets and commercial performance of the home
  • Actively involve young people in decisions about their care and daily life
  • Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders, professionals, and families

What We’re Looking For

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in children’s residential care, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or management position
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification)
  • Either already hold, or be prepared to enrol on, the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare
  • A solid understanding of Ofsted regulations, the SCCIF framework, and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015
  • Confidence and capability in leadership, safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and team development
  • Proven ability to manage challenging behaviour and implement trauma-informed care practices
  • A full UK driving licence is essential
