We are a large town practice with 10 GP partners, 1 ANP and 2 Practice Nurses. We also have Health Board employed CTaC healthcare assistants, mental health nurses and a pharmacist on site. We support training of GP Trainees, Foundation doctors and also 3rd year LIC ScotGEM students. The clinical team is supported by an experienced team of administration and reception staff and workflow optimisation is in place. We are based in a modern, purpose-built practice set in the Georgetown area of Dumfries.

Role Description

This is a 6 session on-site role for a Locum General Practitioner (Maternity Cover) based in Dumfries. The Locum GP will be responsible for providing high-quality primary care services, managing chronic conditions, conducting medical examinations, diagnosing illnesses, and offering preventive care. The GP will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients and may be involved in training and supervising trainee doctors.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Medicine, Primary Care, and Family Medicine
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree
  • Full registration with the GMC and inclusion on the Performer\’s List
  • Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage
