The Role
Social media at Gill is not a vanity exercise. It is a commercial channel. This role exists to turn attention into measurable business outcomes. Pipeline influence, brand authority, and market positioning across technical sectors.
You will own and grow Gill Group’s presence across LinkedIn, Reddit, Meta, and X, building a structured, insight-led approach that connects content to commercial performance. This is not simply a scheduling role. It is a thinking role.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Own the Gill Group LinkedIn presence as the primary B2B channel
- Establish and scale Reddit, Meta, and X with clear purpose per platform
- Build channel-specific strategies based on audience behaviour, not copy‑paste content
- Translate technical products into commercially compelling narratives
- Develop content that supports sales conversations, not just awareness
- Work closely with product, sales, and leadership to surface real expertise
- Identify what actually drives engagement vs what simply fills space
Performance & Reporting
- Track and report on performance against meaningful metrics
- Engagement quality, not just volume
- Traffic to key pages
- Contribution to pipeline and lead quality
- Build monthly insights reports that answer one key question: what worked, what didn’t, and what changes next
- Continuously test, refine, and optimise content and channel strategy
Planning & Execution
- Create structured content calendars aligned to campaigns, product launches, and events
- Balance reactive content with planned, strategic output
- Introduce experimentation frameworks across formats and messaging
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with sales to align messaging with real customer conversations
- Support event amplification, product launches, and thought leadership
- Feed insights back into wider marketing and commercial strategy
What Good Looks Like
- Social channels that feel intentional, not noisy
- Content that sparks conversations with the right people
- Clear evidence of impact on enquiries, conversations, and pipeline
- A reporting cadence that informs decisions, not just documents activity
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience managing B2B social media with a commercial lens
- Strong analytical mindset with confidence in interpreting performance data
- Ability to simplify technical concepts into engaging, credible content
- Experience building or growing channels beyond LinkedIn is a strong advantage
- Confidence to challenge “we’ve always done it this way” thinking
- Commercially minded. You think in outcomes, not outputs
- Curious. You ask why something works, then test it again
- Structured. You bring order to what is often treated as chaos
- Direct. You focus on what matters and cut what doesn’t
Why This Role Matters
We are rapidly evolving into a more joined-up, commercially driven marketing function. Social media should reflect that shift. Less noise. More signal. More impact. This role sits right at that pivot point.
