A well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business is looking to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer to support ongoing growth and high-quality manufacturing operations.
This is a hands-on role focused on manufacturing quality, customer liaison, inspection processes, and continuous improvement within a modern machining environment. The successful candidate will work closely with production, customers, and suppliers to ensure quality standards are maintained across complex machined components and assemblies.
The Role- Manage day-to-day manufacturing quality activities and support production teams
- Interpret engineering drawings and determine appropriate inspection methods
- Produce inspection reports and customer quality documentation
- Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints using 8D / 5 Why methodologies
- Support internal, supplier, and process audits
- Liaise directly with customers and suppliers regarding quality-related matters
- Assist with calibration systems and inspection equipment management
- Create quality control plans and manufacturing quality instructions
- Train operators on inspection methods and measurement equipment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across quality and manufacturing processes
- Previous experience as a Quality Engineer within precision engineering or manufacturing
- Strong understanding of inspection techniques and engineering drawings
- Experience working within ISO 9001 or similar quality systems
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Mechanical engineering background or apprenticeship preferred
- Experience with CMM programming and PC-DMIS would be highly advantageous
- CMM programming (Hexagon / PC-DMIS)
- Internal or supplier auditing
- Aerospace, defence, oil & gas, or high-specification manufacturing environments
