The Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Stores Operator with driving duties to join a busy and highly regulated warehouse operation based in Loughborough. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional with a full, clean and unrestricted Class C driving licence to take on a varied, hands-on role combining warehouse operations, inventory control and local delivery duties.

Working within a computerised warehouse environment, you will play an important role in ensuring materials are received, stored, picked, issued and dispatched accurately and in line with strict procedures and compliance requirements. The role will also involve driving Class C vehicles and supporting deliveries to and from off-site locations, ensuring all transport activities are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant driver and working time regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out warehouse and inventory control activities in line with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete goods-in, goods-out, receipt, picking, issue and despatch activities accurately and on time.
  • Maintain accurate paperwork, stock records and computerised inventory transactions.
  • Carry out point-to-point deliveries to and from off-site locations.
  • Ensure all transport activities are completed safely and in accordance with relevant legislation and company procedures.
  • Ensure materials are correctly labelled, stored and protected from damage or deterioration.
  • Operate forklift trucks and other material handling equipment safely and competently.
  • Complete pre-shift vehicle and equipment checks.
  • Maintain excellent standards of housekeeping and organisation within the warehouse and working areas.
  • Support daily KPI targets through accurate recording and measurement of activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues while also being able to work independently and use initiative.

About You

We are looking for an organised, reliable and proactive individual who takes pride in their work and has excellent attention to detail. To be considered for this position, you will need:

  • 5 GCSEs, or equivalent, at grades A–C.
  • A full, clean and unrestricted Class C driving licence.
  • Previous experience driving Class C vehicles and completing point-to-point deliveries.
  • The ability to provide proof of your full, clean driving licence as part of the recruitment process.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete documentation accurately.
  • Experience working within a warehouse or similarly regulated environment.
  • The ability to follow procedures and maintain high standards of safety, quality and compliance.
  • A proactive and organised approach to daily tasks.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Experience

The following would be advantageous:

  • A current forklift licence, such as Counterbalance, Pivot and PPT.
  • Previous experience in a senior warehouse operator position.
  • Previous warehouse experience within a pharmaceutical, manufacturing or similarly regulated environment.
  • Experience using a computerised inventory or warehouse management system.
  • Experience with stock movements, order booking, goods-in/goods-out or distribution processes.
