A large and purpose-driven organisation is looking for an experienced Internal Communications Manager to help shape employee communications, engagement, and organisational culture across a diverse operational workforce.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead internal communications during a period of ongoing transformation and growth, helping ensure employees remain informed, connected, and engaged across multiple sites and service areas.
Working closely with senior leadership, HR, and operational teams, you’ll play a key role in delivering clear, people-focused communication strategies that support business priorities, organisational culture, and employee experience.
The Role
- Develop and deliver internal communications and engagement strategies
- Create communication plans supporting organisational updates, cultural initiatives, and workforce programmes
- Produce engaging content across digital and offline channels including intranet, newsletters, leadership briefings, and employee updates
- Support change communications linked to restructures, service changes, and transformation projects
- Partner with senior leaders to develop clear and effective messaging
- Help strengthen employee engagement through surveys, feedback channels, and listening initiatives
- Analyse engagement data and recommend improvements
- Ensure communications are accessible and relevant to both operational and office-based employees
- Support crisis and operational communications when required
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and values-led organisational culture
About You
- Previous experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or change communications
- Strong writing and stakeholder management skills
- Experience supporting organisational change and transformation activity
- Ability to communicate complex or sensitive information clearly and professionally
- Comfortable working with senior leaders and operational teams
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Data-driven approach to communication effectiveness and engagement
Desirable Experience
- Public sector, regulated, or multi-site operational environment experience
- CIPR qualification or equivalent communications experience
- Experience supporting workforce strategy, organisational development, or culture programmes
