We are looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to assist our client in Loughborough on a long-term temporary project. The Accounts Payable Assistant will play a key role in implementing the new AI-driven automation into the Accounts Payable function. The Accounts Payable Assistant will work closely with the AP Controller, providing essential support throughout the rollout and beyond.

Pay: £12.85 PH

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:45 to 16:30, Friday 7:45 to 15:15

About the Role: As the Accounts Payable Assistant, you will work closely with the AP Controller to support the rollout of AI-enhanced invoice processing while maintaining accurate and efficient purchase ledger operations. You will be involved in both operational tasks and process-improvement initiatives as the department evolves.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and integration of AI automation within the Accounts Payable function.
  • Process purchase invoices accurately and efficiently within the purchase ledger.
  • Maintain and update supplier accounts, ensuring data integrity and completeness.
  • Perform monthly supplier statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities and reporting requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Skills Required:

  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Clear and confident communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and purchase ledger processes.
  • A willingness to learn, adapt, and engage with new technologies.
  • Full training will be provided, including support with EFACS, AI-assisted tools, and all AP processes.
