Job Description

Director, SAP BDC / Reporting, Analytics & BTP

Based in Stockley Park, on site 3 days a week

We are pleased to share that Gilead’s Stockley Park and Holborn offices are planning to come together at a new London headquarters at 1 Triton Square, NW1, from approximately Q2 2027. Applicants should consider this planned location change when applying for this role. The Director, SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC), Reporting, Analytics & SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) is a strategic leadership role accountable for defining and delivering Gilead’s enterprise data, reporting, analytics, and digital innovation capabilities across the SAP ecosystem.

This role owns the vision, strategy, architecture, and delivery of enterprise reporting and analytics solutions leveraging SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and SAP BTP services. The leader will ensure a scalable, secure, and integrated data foundation that enables real-time decision-making, advanced analytics, AI-driven insights, and enterprise-wide reporting.

Operating as a key member of Enterprise Solutions & Business Partnering, this role partners closely with Business Functions, Data & Analytics teams, IT leadership, and SAP program teams to establish a modern data platform supporting Gilead’s strategic and operational objectives.

The Director will bring deep expertise in SAP data and analytics technologies, enterprise data management, cloud platforms, reporting architecture, AI/ML enablement, and digital innovation while driving standardization, governance, and business value realization.

This position reports to the Senior Director, ERP Technology & Operations.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Data & Analytics Strategy

  • Define and own the enterprise strategy for SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC), Reporting, Analytics, and SAP BTP capabilities.
  • Establish a future-state data and analytics architecture that supports real-time business insights, AI, and intelligent automation.
  • Drive standardization and simplification of enterprise reporting and analytics platforms across business functions.
  • Develop a roadmap for modernization of legacy reporting platforms into SAP's next-generation analytics ecosystem.
  • Align data, reporting, and analytics strategies with enterprise digital transformation objectives.

SAP Business AI Platform Leadership

  • Lead the strategy, design, and implementation of SAP Business Data Cloud capabilities.
  • Establish enterprise-wide data products, semantic models, and governed business data assets.
  • Ensure trusted, consistent, and business-ready data is available across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Commercial, HR, and R&D domains.
  • Drive adoption of SAP's data fabric architecture and business data layer capabilities.
  • Own the design and delivery of enterprise reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and performance management solutions.
  • Lead SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Datasphere, and other reporting platforms supporting enterprise reporting needs.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to define key performance measures and analytics requirements.
  • Ensure reporting solutions provide actionable insights, predictive analytics, and executive decision support.
  • Drive self-service analytics adoption across business functions.
  • Define and execute the SAP BTP strategy, architecture, and governance model.
  • Lead development of extensions, integrations, workflows, automation solutions, and custom applications on BTP.
  • Drive adoption of SAP Integration Suite, Business Application Studio, Workflow Management, Process Automation, AI Core, and related BTP services.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, compliance, and operational standards.
  • Evaluate emerging SAP innovations and enable business adoption of new capabilities.

Business Alignment & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary technology and business partner for enterprise reporting, analytics, data, and innovation initiatives.
  • Partner with senior business leaders to align analytics priorities with strategic objectives.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, compliant, and integrated technology solutions.
  • Lead executive-level discussions on data strategy, analytics investments, and platform priorities.
  • Drive adoption and business value realization from enterprise analytics investments.

Program Delivery & Governance

  • Accountable for successful delivery of enterprise data, reporting, analytics, and BTP initiatives.
  • Establish governance frameworks for portfolio management, architecture reviews, and solution approvals.
  • Oversee budgets, scope, risks, timelines, and resource planning for strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure delivery excellence through adherence to enterprise standards, quality controls, and best practices.
  • Partner with change management and business readiness teams to drive user adoption.

Data Governance, Security & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance standards, privacy regulations, and security requirements.
  • Establish policies for data quality, stewardship, lineage, cataloging, and lifecycle management.
  • Drive audit readiness and compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Cyber Security and Enterprise Architecture teams to implement secure and compliant solutions.

Innovation, AI & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI, machine learning, intelligent automation, and advanced analytics.
  • Drive innovation programs utilizing SAP Joule, Business AI, predictive analytics, and generative AI technologies.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across the analytics and platform teams.
  • Evaluate emerging SAP and industry technologies and develop business cases for adoption.
  • Measure and communicate business value delivered through analytics and digital innovation investments.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years (or advanced degree with 12+ years) of experience in Enterprise Data, Analytics, SAP, or Digital Platform leadership.
  • Deep expertise in SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC), SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP S/4HANA, and SAP BTP.
  • Proven experience defining enterprise data strategies and implementing modern cloud-based analytics platforms.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture, data governance, master data management, and data integration.
  • Experience leading large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation programs with significant analytics and reporting components.
  • Demonstrated success delivering executive reporting, business intelligence, and enterprise analytics solutions.
  • Experience working with AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, and intelligent automation technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms, integration architectures, API management, and enterprise technology ecosystems.
  • Experience partnering with executive stakeholders and influencing strategic technology decisions.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead global teams and deliver complex transformational initiatives.
  • Ability to balance business priorities, technical architecture, governance, compliance, and delivery excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, or SAP BTP certifications.
  • Experience in Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or highly regulated industries.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform, Snowflake, Databricks, or other modern cloud data ecosystems.
  • Strong knowledge of AI-driven analytics, data products, and enterprise information management frameworks.
