We are seeking a highly motivated and scientifically driven Associate Director, Global Medical Affairs, Oncology (Breast Cancer) to join our Global Medical Affairs Breast Cancer team. The role will be office-based in the International Headquarter, Stockley Park, London, UK/ Central London location as of 2027, and will be reporting to the GMA Breast Cancer Lead, on the same location. This global role will contribute substantively to the development and execution of global medical strategy, evidence generation, scientific communication, medical education, and cross functional collaboration across the breast cancer portfolio. The role interfaces closely with global and regional stakeholders and supports affiliates to ensure scientific excellence and consistent medical impact worldwide.

We are pleased to share that Gilead’s Stockley Park and Holborn offices are planning to come together at a new London headquarters at 1 Triton Square, NW1, from approximately Q2 2027. Gilead operates a flexible working policy, offering a balanced approach with two days of remote working and three days working onsite.

Job responsibilities:

  • Establishes strong working relationships with, and is a key company representative to groups of experts, medical professional groups, societies, and represents the company at international scientific meetings.
  • Responds to scientific inquiries regarding marketed or developmental Gilead products.
  • Presents scientific and clinical data utilising scientific resources to deliver impactful presentations in a variety of different settings.
  • Closely collaborate with global cross‑functional teams including Global Medical Affairs (GMA), Global Commercial Product Strategy (GCPS), Research and Development (R&D), Global Medical Strategy & Operations (GMSO), and others on global strategic planning and projects execution.
  • Lead development of global strategic plans including Global Plan of Action (gPOA), Integrated Evidence Plans (IEP) and others.
  • Lead global medical education programs and initiatives, including internal medical trainings and medical educational projects, medical content development and digital initiatives.
  • Lead and contribute to global insights generation and advisory activities.
  • Provide strategic medical input and support to affiliates to ensure strategic alignment and executional excellence.
  • Attends major conferences and help coordinate medical affairs activities at conferences and may present to external audience.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

  • MD, PhD, or PharmD.
  • 8+ years pharmaceutical industry experience in the oncology and/or hematology preferred.
  • Prior global or affiliate Medical Affairs experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a cross‑functional, matrixed environment on the global or affiliate level.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements governing Medical Affairs activities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical‑thinking capabilities; ability to solve complex scientific and strategic problems.
  • Proven project management and organisational skills, with ability to deliver against timelines in fast‑paced environments with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build trusted partnerships across functions and geographies.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including occasional weekend travel, to support global congresses and scientific meetings.
  • Preferably UK Medical Signatory.
