An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Global Decision Sciences & Insights team for an Associate Director, Integrated Insights supporting Established Product (EP) Portfolio at Stockley Park. The established product (EP) team focuses on driving innovation and efficiency to manage the growing Gilead established products portfolio, encompassing several therapeutic areas including Antifungal, Liver, and HIV. The primary goal for the EP franchise is to drive strategy to deliver value optimising the mature product portfolio to the organisation.
The candidate for the integrated insights role will work closely with the EP team to conduct analytics, forecasting, and market research to inform decisions for the EP team. Specific job requirements are outlined below:
- Business Analytics: Drive the development and execution of business analytics needs for the EP team. Examples of analysis include but are not limited to business case development, portfolio metrics analysis, and portfolio review process/modelling (e.g., profitability analysis, ROI analysis, etc.). Be the go-to person for the EP portfolio data and reporting needs. Work closely with finance and other Analytics & Insights colleagues to understand the data sources, limitations, and applications. Own data and reporting needs for the EP team and develop analyses and insights to support the Commercial team and associated Marketing strategies, e.g., updates on monthly product performance. Expect to do secondary analysis to pressure test assumptions, including analogue analyses and benchmarks. Work closely with GSCO EP Global Strategy Marketing (GSM) team to understand the strategic business questions and develop analytical approaches to support business decisions.
- Forecasting: Lead role to drive the inputs and assumptions for relevant EP Products in both Latest Estimate (LE) forecasting process and Long Range Plan (LRP). Work closely with local teams to understand the trends and drivers for short-term EP Portfolio forecast assumptions. Consolidate the view of EP Portfolio forecast at key region level. Work closely with TA integrated insights teams to recommend LRP assumptions for EP Products forming part of overall Therapy Area portfolios. Develop and maintain appropriate forecasting models for EP portfolio. Provide insights, analysis, and presentation materials to synthesise and summarise forecast implications and recommendations.
- Market Research: While forecasting and business analytics are the primary focus for this role, the candidate will also take on some market research responsibilities depending on business priorities within the EP portfolio. Leads select global market research projects to support the overall global market research plan. Potential projects include but are not limited to business case assumptions testing and future landscape study.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
- Educated to degree level or above.
- Extensive experience of forecasting and analytics in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in specialty markets and in-depth knowledge of sales and marketing organisations and pharmaceutical data sources, e.g., IQVIA.
- Experience in one or more of Gilead's core markets of hospital-based anti-fungals, liver diseases, inflammation, oncology/haematology, and HIV preferred.
- Capable of building analytical models to evaluate business situations and provide recommendations.
- Ability to assume full responsibility for accuracy and reliability of complex analyses.
- Strong project management skills - planning, prioritisation, organisational ability, objective setting, meeting management, and plan execution; making things happen quickly is important in this role.
- Able to prioritise and utilise limited resources to manage multiple and/or conflicting requests from a variety of internal customers, manage peak workload periods and ad hoc requests.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact cross-functionally, especially global to local affiliates interactions, and at all levels of the organisation.
- Potential leadership skills with an ability to set a vision, exercise sound business judgment, and clear decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to efficiently communicate technical information to non-technical members of senior management.
- High attention to detail together with an ability to understand the 'big picture'.

- Knowledge of MS Excel and business intelligence systems and tools, e.g., Microstrategy and Tableau, and their application in the pharmaceutical industry.

- Knowledge of and experience in forecast modelling techniques and the application to a particular business problem.
- Experience in developing forecasts for similar products or therapeutic areas preferred.
