Overview
In this role you will serve as a senior legal advisor on the Global Corporate Litigation & Investigations team, handling international litigation, investigations, and prelitigation matters. You will lead complex cases, manage outside counsel, and coordinate cross-functional efforts to mitigate risk. The position emphasizes independent judgment, strategic risk assessment, and thorough internal investigations to support business objectives. This is a high-impact, globally scoped role in a leading biopharma company.

Responsibilities
- Independently manage litigation, investigations and prelitigation matters and guide other team members on similar issues
- Stay current with case law, regulatory developments, and industry dynamics relevant to Gilead
- Identify and assess legal risks, providing practical risk-balanced advice in prelitigation contexts
- Lead complex litigation and arbitration matters, including strategy, discovery, and day-to-day case management
- Review legal correspondence, memos, and briefs; support internal and external updates on litigation and risks
- Manage government investigations from inception to resolution, coordinating with stakeholders and outside counsel
- Conduct internal investigations from scope to remediation recommendations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and effectively direct outside counsel
- Define and oversee engagement of outside counsel to align with company goals
- Possibly leverage life sciences experience to inform strategy when applicable
Key requirements
- Extensive legal experience in multinational or top-tier law firm environments
- Proven track record in complex and high-profile litigation and investigations
- Experience with internal investigations and government/agency requests
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and escalate when needed
- Strong judgment, risk assessment, and decision-making capabilities
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

- Licensed to practice in EU and UK (preferred)
- UK-based role with awareness of planned HQ relocation to London
