For over 30 years, Gilead has been a leading innovator in treating and preventing HIV, but this expertise is just a foundation for our ambitions. This team partners with stakeholders across Gilead’s organization to deliver meaningful value by re-shaping our supplier strategies and relationships for all indirect procurement spend. In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with stakeholder groups working at Gilead’s Stockley Park and Holborn sites in the UK. You will also provide limited sourcing support on high-value or strategically important projects for two smaller international markets, for example, Australia & New Zealand.
The job holder will support the development and implementation of both global and local Procurement strategies that result in the delivery of value to Gilead’s business. The role will require you to liaise with Global Procurement Category Managers responsible for developing procurement strategies for globally managed categories of spend. With your knowledge of business requirements, you will support the development of these global category strategies and drive local adoption and adherence to these category strategies within the markets you support.
You will work collaboratively with UK and sometimes US based stakeholders to develop and implement sourcing strategies that deliver value. The Stockley Park site includes teams with global remit so projects may also require liaison with US based stakeholders. - Act as a ‘strategic thought partner’ to the stakeholders and markets that this role supports.
- Annually, identify a ‘pipeline’ of opportunities to optimize spend with suppliers.

- Develop local sourcing strategies where applicable.
- Maintain a holistic view of demand and supply options.
- Identify preferred suppliers in close collaboration with stakeholders.
- For Holborn site: Implement RFP’s, negotiate pricing and contract terms with suppliers as required to implement agreed sourcing strategies.
- For Stockley Park site: Following alignment on sourcing approach with stakeholders, liaise with GPO’s Services & Delivery Team to implement the agreed sourcing approach which may include supplier negotiation strategies, sourcing events, or contracting activities.
- Determine stakeholder satisfaction with key vendors and support performance improvement opportunities.
- Promote stakeholder adoption of standardized procurement processes.
- Inspire stakeholders to realize the value that good sourcing practices bring to the business.
- Provide bi-monthly updates on delivery and progress to GPO and senior leaders (e.g. General Manager and Finance Lead) for the markets you support.
- Proactively highlight issues that require awareness or attention.
- Attend Procurement Team meetings to learn about GPO goals, delivery and best practices.
