As a result of an internal move, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced commercial leader to join the business unit as Marketing Director responsible for UK & Ireland. This position will be based in Holborn, London (3 days a week on site) and report into the Senior Business Unit Director, Liver & AAI.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a strong Marketing team and cross-functional brand teams in line with our Business Unit Ways of Working; One Team, Focused and Brave. We have a diverse portfolio across the BU encompassing both mature and launch brands. The Liver Franchise comprises established products in Hepatitis B and C, a recent launch in Hepatitis D, and a pending launch in Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC). Acute Anti-Infectives consists of an anti-fungal used to combat invasive fungal infections and an anti-viral to treat Covid-19.

Primary responsibilities:
  • Leadership of our cross-functional Brand Plans of Action (POA) ensuring strategic alignment, effective tactics and performance metrics that deliver our Commercial goals within the available resources.
  • Deliver Commercial launch excellence of our PBC medicine via the cross-functional brand team, ensuring we harness our broader Liver portfolio.
  • Lead the planning, development and implementation of integrated marketing strategies and associated tactical plans, ensuring strong alignment with sales execution. Such activities will also include performance and tracking metrics for plan evaluation.
  • Develop effective working relationships and effective engagement plans with NHS Therapy Area Experts and other key stakeholders to strengthen Gilead's position within the PBC environment.
  • Contribute as subject matter expert into portfolio prioritisation, revenue forecasting and market access.
  • Partner with Global teams to ensure strong alignment, ensuring the UKI contribution is incorporated into global plans and identifying opportunities to support rapid execution.
  • Oversee omnichannel capabilities for demonstrably greater impact.
  • Demonstrate operational excellence in project management, budget management and continual process improvement.
  • Commercial signatory, ensuring that all marketing activities are in compliance with Gilead SOPs and ABPI & IPHA Codes of Practice.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to develop and deploy.
  • Strong track record and experience within UK affiliate Marketing roles, with brand leadership responsibility.
  • Excellent communications skills with an ability to efficiently and productively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated understanding of UK pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and ability to innovate and drive performance within the applicable compliance frameworks.
  • Undergraduate Degree in Life Sciences, Marketing qualification preferred.
