An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and experienced commercial lead to join Gilead as Associate Director of Sales & Marketing, Oncology for the UK & Ireland affiliate. This position will be based in Central London and report into the Business Unit Director, and will be part of the Business Unit Leadership team.
Position Overview:
The Associate Director Sales & Marketing will be responsible for the strategy, planning and implementation of all commercial activities within Oncology in the UK and Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing an integrated commercial strategy and cross-functional plan of action (PoA), and will manage a team of sales and marketing professionals. The AD S&M will be responsible for line management of a team of four sales professionals and a team of 2 marketers, as well as working closely with the cross-functional team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for commercial performance of the Gilead UK&I Oncology business, using data and insights to forecast, prioritise and deploy investments.
- Lead, support and coach the Oncology sales and marketing team. Ensure clear roles and responsibilities and maximise the potential of the team to deliver against commercial goals.
- Lead the planning, development and implementation of integrated marketing strategies and associated tactical plans. To include performance tracking to evaluate and adapt plan, in line with agreed budget.
- Leads account planning excellence, ensuring business is prioritized based on data and local insights, with clear plans developed and implemented which leverage opportunities for growth, in line with national strategy.
- Lead the UK&I Oncology Brand Team, partnering with key cross-functional team members to ensure a cohesive Plan of Action is developed and executed.
- Develop effective working relationships and effective engagement plans with NHS Therapy Area Experts and other key stakeholders to strengthen Gilead's position within the oncology market.
- Assess and recommend commercialization strategy for future indications and oncology assets, working with Global and cross-functional stakeholders.

- Ensures that all activities are in compliant with Gilead SOP and Codes of Practice.
Required Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
- The successful candidate will be a recognised leader with excellent communication skills. You will need to demonstrate the ability to manage complexity, ambiguity and prioritisation with a collaborative, constructive and solution-oriented approach.
- Must demonstrate excellence in project management and effectively dealing with multiple projects/priorities in parallel.
- Strong leadership qualities such as having the ability to attract, motivate and retain talent and drive a culture of collaboration, engagement and excellence.
- Undergraduate Degree in Life Sciences, Marketing or equivalent.
- Must have commercial and cross-functional leadership experience in the pharmaceutical industry - people management experience preferred.
- Good working knowledge of NHS, private healthcare market and oncology reimbursement landscape.
- Willingness to lead and be involved at an operational level as well as strategic.
- Strong track record and experience in field roles, such as pharmaceutical sales, is required. Experience of sales leadership is preferred.
- Strong marketing experience in oncology market is required - preferably in Breast Cancer.
- Track record of successful budget management with an understanding of revenue forecasting and expense budget planning and tracking preferred.
- Experience with UK and Ireland pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and knowledge of the relevant local laws and Codes of Practice preferred.
- Openness to travel domestically and some internationally.
