Due to the continued growth of our Jewellery, Watches & Accessories department, we have an exciting opportunity to join our team of specialist valuers, and help to run our hugely successful specialist auctions.
Responsibilities
- Working alongside our current Jewellery team to build and contribute to our strong regional and international reputation
- Conduct detailed valuations of jewellery, watches and accessories for auction sales and probate clients
- Provide expert advice to clients regarding jewellery valuations and market trends
- Assist in developing new strategies to attract desirable lots
- Liaising with our photography and marketing teams to help auction and stock promotion and presentation
- Lay-out and presenting the items for public and trade viewing days prior to auction
- Handling and replying to pre-sale condition report enquiries
- Auctioneering (preferable, but not essential)
Qualifications / Skills
- Candidates must hold GEM-A qualifications, preferably with further Diamond grading/diploma
- Experience in an auction environment is very desirable with the proven ability to consign lots for sale
- Knowledge of current market trends in the jewellery, watch and auction market
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Proficiency with IT tools
- Organizational skills to manage multiple valuations efficiently
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a small, dedicated team
- Valid driving license required for client visits or valuations at different locations
