Located in Hampstead, North London, Gilden's Art Gallery specialises in Modern Fine Art of the early 20th century. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Gallery Assistant. You will be responsible for:
- Day-to-day running of the gallery
- Face-to-face dealing with clients both at Art fairs and in the gallery
- Preparation of Art Fair
- Organizing Transports
- Packing Artworks
- Obtaining Export licenses
- Arranging the Importation of Artworks
- Assisting with the installation of exhibitions
- Gallery administration: online marketing and promotion, photography and shipment of artworks both nationally and internationally
This is a starting-level position in an active Art Gallery. The successful candidate will hold at least a bachelor's degree in Art History or a similar qualification. Must have at least one year of relevant prior experience in a commercial gallery as a gallery assistant (including internships). He/she will be an ambitious individual who has excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Fluency in one or several other languages will be advantageous. Prior knowledge of original prints and works on paper of the Modern era. Availability to work 5 days per week, including one day on the weekend.
