The Senior Analyst – SOX Compliance supports the effective execution and continuous enhancement of the Company's SOX compliance program across Gildan Commercial Entities. The role independently performs and evaluates control testing, maintains process and controls documentation, supports remediation efforts, and partners with business stakeholders to strengthen internal controls, systems, and reporting. This position plays a key role in ensuring audit readiness and enhancing management's ability to make informed decisions through robust compliance and reporting practices. The position sits in the Financial Reporting Department, reporting to the Director, Sox Compliance.

The role
  • Support the coordination and assessment of the internal controls and compliance environment, contributing to enhancements in processes, systems, and procedures to improve overall effectiveness.
  • Perform walkthroughs and control testing to assess whether controls are operating as intended and aligned with established policies, procedures, and internal control requirements.
  • Maintain and update documentation of business processes, systems, and controls, ensuring that changes in operations are accurately captured and reflected in a timely manner.
  • Document control issues, support the analysis of underlying causes, and assist in tracking remediation actions through to completion to ensure timely resolution.
  • Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of reporting outputs, supporting business units in generating reliable information to aid management decision-making.
  • Provide support for systems and tools used in SOX compliance and financial reporting, including assisting users and contributing to process improvements, project activities, and ad hoc analysis.
The requirements
  • 3–5 years of relevant professional experience, including experience in an audit environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA or equivalent professional designation, completed or in progress.
  • Experience performing control testing, including walkthroughs and testing of operating effectiveness, and maintaining process and control documentation.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and reports, and manage multiple priorities while working with stakeholders.
  • Exposure to data analysis tools (e.g., Power Query, Tableau) considered an asset.
