You will be the lead on one of their flagship accounts - creative, strategic advertising campaigns covering all channels including film, OOH, digital and print - and of course some digital.

An Account Director is a crucial role in Client Services Division, operating as the key bridge between your clients and the creative, production and technical departments.

The main aim of your role is to ensure that the agency is meeting the client’s needs, solving strategic problems, and keeping projects on track.

You’ll have an account handling team reporting into you.

The opportunity

Within this dynamic environment, no two days are the same for the agency’s client service team and this guarantees to present you with an exciting learning curve, sharpening your management, team working and communication skills.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on a range of client accounts from a major flagship account but also some other interesting clients.

Day to day

  • Leading client accounts within the agency, managing budgets, ensuring they are profitable and growing.
  • Applying strategic thinking and insight to all projects, driving them forward and addressing challenges where appropriate.
  • Taking responsibility for the client-agency relationship, developing and maintaining senior client relationships.
  • Seeking to build a good working rapport between the account management, creative and development teams throughout the agency.
  • Regularly involved in new business, tenders and pitches, approaching these with both a creative and commercial mindset.
  • Managing client briefings and presentations.
  • Managing projects on-time and on-budget.
  • Responding to client requests.
  • Financial management – estimating, quoting, and invoicing.
  • Time management – creation of timing plans to meet client deadlines / contact reports
  • Providing support to the team – you will report to a Director and have a client services team report directly to you.

To be considered

This is a role for those who enjoy and thrive in a dynamic, sometimes pressurised environment.

It’s fast-paced, and you must have the ability to think on your feet, juggling various client needs at the same time, and still ensure that everything is delivered to a perfect standard.

You will be an individual who

  • Is a strategic thinker
  • Drives things forward on a project basis
  • Is commercially minded, understands ROI
  • Leads by example and inspires others
  • Challenges both internally and externally to achieve the best results in a thought out and respectful manner
  • Wants to be part of a brilliant team
  • Builds trust in client relationships
  • Is self motivated
  • Has a positive outlook and a can-do attitude
  • Has genuine enthusiasm and passion for the marketing industry with knowledge of integrated advertising / marketing campaigns
  • Has some experience in a similar role - a minimum of 2 years within agency side at Account Director level.

Salary and package is purely dependent on skills & experience

  • £45,000 - £52,000
  • Investment in your personal growth with a good training budget
  • Benefits including pensions and life cover
  • Good holiday allowance
  • Opportunities to study further qualifications and join professional bodies
  • Hybrid working - 3 days per week in the Edinburgh office
