This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the best consumer communications and PR agency groups in the UK.
A key member of the team utilising your commercial awareness and project management skills in the delivery of exceptional communications and marketing support services to your clients. You are at the heart of the account and the client relationship, delegating work appropriately to Executives and the wider team when necessary. Effectively managing upwards and accepting account leadership responsibility from Directors as required. Building senior client relationships and identifying opportunities to deliver additional support.
- PEOPLE & TEAM - Effectively lead small teams of account managers and account executives. Be a guide and mentor to more junior members of the team. Encourage a positive and respectful team environment at all times. Foster an environment of collaboration within your team. Proactively take steps to develop a strong team ethic within the groups you manage. Create a supportive environment for account execs. Keep all relevant people informed of client or internal activities. Communicate information within the team with authority and clarity. - CAMPAIGNS & CLIENTS - Participate in the strategic development of campaigns, with the support of senior team. Act as gatekeeper on pitches. Lead by example amongst your team, coaching them into strong publicists. Have a solid contact book of creators, with a passion for growing this and leading by example within the team. On bigger clients, the SAM should be the day to day account manager. Being the clients’ key point person on all areas of execution, trafficking the work and ensuring the information flow goes up and down within your team. Ensure that the account execs working into you are delivering on all administrative duties. Contribute effectively to the development of KPIs when planning campaigns. Participate effectively in the analysis and evaluation of campaigns. Capture learnings and ensure they are shared with the wider agency. Build strong and effective relationships with clients rooted in trust and mutual respect. Be seen by your clients as an effective operator, a strong cultural connector, and someone they can rely on to deliver their campaigns.
- NEW BUSINESS - Ensure you’re aware of, and able to communicate, the agency’s key USPs, past, present and future. Seek to build out your network, and actively look for opportunities to generate new business opportunities for the agency. Participate in the development and delivery of major new business pitches. Actively participate in the agency’s marketing activities. Proactively seek new opportunities and channels to promote our work.
- AGENCY LEADERSHIP - Take an active role in the resource planning process. Ensure you are aware of the upcoming requirements of your clients and the pressures on your team. Take an active role in the time analysis of your clients and projects. Where you are leading smaller clients, be responsible for ensuring that those clients are working under up-to-date terms of business and signed SOW. Seek to generate new commercial opportunities within your existing client base – through expansion and cross-sell. A developing ability to build project fee budgets, with the support of senior team. Be able to contribute to the build of accurate programme cost budgets, and ensure all costs are being tracked by account execs.
To be considered for this role, you will possess:
- At Account Manager level, you should have a minimum of 2 years experience within a PR agency, account handling.
- At Senior Account Manager, you should have 3/4 years experience of account handling within a PR agency environment.
- Consumer communications experience is a must.
- A mixture of traditional PR approaches and digital is essential.
- Solid media knowledge and contacts.
Salary is purely dependent on skills & experience, please state your current salary on application. A wide range is ÂŁ30,000 - ÂŁ42,000 reflective on what you can bring to the team.
