The role is Media Strategist & Buyer with a salary of c£35,000 + benefits.
Role in a Nutshell - We’re looking for an exceptional Media Strategist and Buyer to lead, plan and deliver highly effective multi-channel media campaigns across radio, TV, digital, print and partnerships. You’ll be joining a small boutique, but growing digital agency based in Edinburgh’s city centre.
About You - you’ll most likely be working in a media agency planning and buying multichannel campaigns and looking to take a step up in seniority and your own impact for clients. We’re a small, independent agency that hugely values collaboration and development. You’ll be at home with Thinbox, Touchpoints and all the other key research and insight platforms available to us.
Role Responsibilities and Deliverables
- Lead, plan and execute media campaigns across various channels including radio, digital, print and partnerships (and perhaps some TV)
- Lead communications with media clients to fully understand their needs, preferences and goals.
- Conduct media research and analysis to identify target audiences and optimal media placements
- Negotiate media buys and manage budgets to achieve the best value for clients and the agency
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with media partners, vendors and publishers
- Monitor and optimise campaign performance to ensure client goals are exceeded
- Deliver regular reporting and insight to clients
- Collaborate with internal teams (performance, account management, operations) and clients to ensure seamless campaign integration
- Stay fully abreast of industry trends, audience trends, industry best practices and emerging media platforms
- Mentor colleagues and help develop their knowledge of media planning and buying
- Share the expertise of the agency through blog content, email and social media.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree qualification, preferably in Marketing, Advertising, Business or a related field
- Proven experience in media planning and buying in an agency setting
- Strong understanding of UK media landscape and various channels
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to analyse data and make data-driven decisions
- Proficient in media planning and buying tools
- Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Superb communication skills, comfortable presenting and persuading to clients at all levels
It would be AMAZING if you had some global fintech / financial services experience although this is not an essential requirement for the role.
Reporting to - Managing Director
Reports - No direct management reports at present, but this will soon change with the growth
Salary - to £35,000 (may go higher for someone who ticks all the boxes and more).
Hours of Work - business hours are 9-5:30 Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on a Friday. Hybrid / some days in the office and a flexible WFH policy
Training Budget - we provide a £1,000 annual training budget to team members, along with dedicated personal development time.
