Headteacher Opportunity – Doncaster

We are seeking an exceptional and visionary Headteacher to lead our specialist school in Doncaster, providing education for pupils aged 11–18 (KS3–KS5) with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The school offers a bespoke, trauma-informed curriculum with a strong emphasis on vocational learning pathways, equipping young people with the skills, confidence, and qualifications they need to thrive in life beyond school.

Responsibilities:

• Provide inspirational leadership, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and care.
• Shape and deliver a curriculum tailored to individual needs, blending academic study with vocational opportunities.
• Embed a trauma-informed approach across the school, supporting pupils to achieve both personally and academically.
• Lead and develop a dedicated staff team, fostering a culture of collaboration, resilience, and ambition.
• Work closely with families, local partners, and external agencies to ensure every learner receives the right support.

We are looking for a leader who:

• Has proven experience in a leadership role within an SEMH or alternative provision setting.
• Understands how to create and sustain a nurturing and aspirational environment for young people with complex needs.
• Brings creativity and vision to developing vocational and bespoke learning programmes.
• Is committed to inclusive practice and ensuring positive outcomes for every learner.
• Possesses the resilience, empathy, and drive to lead a highly skilled and passionate team.
