We are partnered with a leading private mental health provider who are looking to recruit a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist for a specialist Eating Disorder service that provides exceptional care in a fast-paced, rewarding, and supportive environment for children and young people aged 8–18 years.
About the Role:
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will ideally work 37.5 hours per week, either over four or five days, delivering evidence-based treatment plans to help young people understand their eating behaviours and restore their physical and mental health. This is your chance to work alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team to create individualised treatment plans within a nurturing environment. You will play a pivotal role in assessing, planning, and supporting the recovery journeys of young people while maintaining regular communication with families and external care teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review referrals and assess suitability for admission.
- Conduct admission assessments and develop comprehensive management plans.
- Perform regular risk assessments and oversee the allocation of specialist psychological treatments.
- Monitor and assess physical health.
- Facilitate regular CPA review meetings.
- Act as the Responsible Clinician for detained patients under the Mental Health Act.
- There will be on-call responsibilities as part of the role.
What We’re Looking For:
- Registration on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a valid licence to practice.
- Experience in CAMHS eating disorders (desirable).
