Area Director (Care and Support)
Location: Midlands Based (Flexibility for the right candidate) – Mainly home-based
Salary: £90K + Car Allowance + Competitive bonus + Benefits
We are working on behalf of an established organisation to appoint an Area Director (Care and Support). This senior leadership role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact across a large and complex portfolio of services, ensuring the delivery of outstanding care and support for young people.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic leadership and direction to a team of Residential Operations Managers.
- Embedding a culture that places positive outcomes for young people at the heart of all services.
- Maintaining high standards of quality, compliance and operational excellence in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Driving service development, innovation and continuous improvement to achieve growth and sustainability.
- Building effective relationships with local authorities, commissioners and regulators, ensuring contractual obligations are met and new opportunities identified.
- Leading on workforce development, talent retention and succession planning, supported by robust people management practices.
- Overseeing budgets, performance targets and KPIs to ensure financial and operational objectives are achieved.
Key requirements include:
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within care and support services, ideally in an Ofsted-regulated environment.
- Strong track record of managing people, budgets and resources to deliver measurable outcomes.
- Knowledge and experience of setting up new services and projects within a regulated framework.
- Ability to foster positive relationships with commissioners, local authorities and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Values-led leadership with a commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and operational excellence.
