About Gigs
At Gigs, we’re building the operating system for mobile services—a platform that lets tech companies embed global connectivity into their products effortlessly. Just as Stripe lets any business add a payment button in seconds, Gigs empowers platforms to weave in connectivity—bridging the traditional world of telecom with modern tech. From fintechs launching mobile services to HR platforms offering work phone plans, we automate provisioning and remove telecom complexity. Our team of around 100 people across the US and Europe is backed by nearly $100 million in funding from Ribbit Capital, Google, and Y Combinator. As one of the fastest-growing tech companies, we bring together early‑stage engineers, product builders, and business athletes from companies like Stripe, Airbnb, and Shopify. We’re tackling deep technical and regulatory challenges to make connectivity truly seamless. If you’re driven by curiosity, creativity, and the chance to shape the future of telecom, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role
You will drive technical hiring for Gigs as we re‑imagine global connectivity. Your job is to find, wow, and close exceptional engineers who want to solve hard problems. You’ll partner directly with engineering leadership to build a team that moves fast, sweats the details, and raises the bar with every hire. You can spot real technical chops, separate signal from credentials, and know how to engage people with plenty of options. This role can be located in any of our European hubs (Berlin, Amsterdam, London).
What You Will Do
- Run full‑cycle recruitment for engineering roles: backend, fullstack, infrastructure, and technical leadership. Cradle to offer letter.
- Source like you mean it. Build talent maps, run outbound that actually gets responses, and convince great engineers to take your call even when they’re happy where they are.
- Evaluate technical fit. Screen for engineering fundamentals, system design thinking, and product sense.
- Calibrate constantly with hiring managers so you both know great when you see it.
- Move fast without cutting corners. Tight loops, coordinated panels, structured feedback, quick decisions.
- Use data to get better. Track your funnel (source quality, pass‑through rates, offer acceptance, time‑to‑fill), spot what’s broken, and fix it.
- Sell the work, not just the perks. Talk about technical challenges, team culture, and growth paths in ways that make strong engineers lean in.
- Leave things better than you found them. Sharpen scorecards, smooth scheduling, tighten feedback loops, strengthen our technical brand.
What We Are Looking For
- Deep technical recruiting experience, ideally at high‑growth startups or product companies that engineers actually want to join.
- Engineering excellence. You’ve worked at companies engineers nerd out about.
- Strategic perspective. You think beyond filling roles to building teams that compound, and you have opinions on how hiring decisions shape engineering culture.
- Technical fluency. You understand architecture discussions, and talk shop with senior engineers without faking it.
- Good taste in engineering talent. You know what great looks like and can separate real signal from credential noise.
- Operational rigor. You run clean process, hit your SLAs, and don’t let balls drop.
- Sourcing chops. You know where engineers hang out (GitHub, communities, Slack groups, that one Discord), and your outreach gets replies.
- Data‑informed instincts. You track what matters, diagnose what’s off, and adjust based on evidence instead of vibes.
- Low ego, high ownership. You care about winning, take feedback without getting defensive, and fix problems before anyone asks.
Before You Apply
The truth is, what we’re building isn’t easy. We expect a lot, and operate with urgency and ownership. This won’t be the right place for everyone, and that’s okay. This role probably isn’t a fit if:
- You need a lot of structure, or layers of process to do your best work.
- You prefer to specialize narrowly and wait for direction rather than taking initiative.
- You’re uncomfortable making decisions with imperfect information or wearing multiple hats.
- You’re looking for a “big company” setup — we’re still building many things for the first time.
But if you’re excited by the idea of building from zero, working with passion, and leaving your mark on something that matters — we’d love to meet you.
