About Gigs
At Gigs, we're building the operating system for mobile services - a platform that lets tech companies embed global connectivity into their products effortlessly. Just as Stripe lets any business add a payment button in seconds, Gigs empowers platforms to weave in connectivity - bridging the traditional world of telecom with modern tech. From fintechs launching mobile services to HR platforms offering work phone plans, we automate provisioning and remove telecom complexity.
Our team of around 150 people across the US and Europe, backed by nearly $100 million in funding from Ribbit Capital, Google, and Y Combinator. As one of the fastest-growing tech companies, we’re tackling deep technical and regulatory challenges to make connectivity truly seamless. If you’re driven by curiosity, creativity, and the chance to shape the future of telecom, we’d love to hear from you.
Things We Care About
- Speed. We move and we ship. We set bold deadlines and treat every week like it matters.
- Ownership. If you see something broken, fix it. We don't wait for permission.
- Customer Obsession. Our customers' product is our product.
- Ambiguity. We're building frontier technology in a complex domain. You'll need sound judgement and good instincts to make decisions without complete information.
- First principles. We don't ask how things have been done before. We ask why they were done that way at all.
The Role
As Roaming Lead, you'll own both the day-to-day operations and the strategic direction behind Gigs' Global Roaming product, from the start: the data-only, API-first connectivity layer that gives our customers instant coverage in nearly every country in the world. You'll sit within the Connectivity team, working closely with our roaming network providers and cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Partnerships to keep coverage, quality, and pricing running smoothly as we scale Roaming into one of Gigs' fastest-growing verticals. As the vertical grows, this role has a clear path to Head of Roaming, with team and P&L ownership.
What You Will Do
- Own Roaming vertical strategy end-to-end across direction, execution, operational excellence, market insights and thought leadership. Set the strategic direction for Global Roaming, then translate it into the operating plan you run day to day.
- Productize Global Roaming. Embedded roaming is a key strategic vertical powering the world’s largest and leading brands as customers. You'll be tasked to build this vertical out into a fully scalable product: driving feature development with product, tightening quality control, and partnering with Finance on rate structure and continuous commercial optimization as we add providers and markets.
- Be the voice of the market. You'll own the Global Roaming dashboards and become the go-to person on coverage, quality, cost, and usage data, then turn that into intelligence: what customers are asking for, what competitors already ship, and what Gigs should build next. You'll be the internal advocate pushing these insights into the Product and Partnerships roadmap.
- Own provider, coverage, and commercial performance. Ownership over the full provider book and relationship. From the details of plan configurations and PoP breakouts to governing commercial conditions, resolving escalations, and driving partnership development as provider terms and features evolve.
- Obsess over quality, features, and testing. Relentlessly work to improve the user experience of roaming by ensuring feature development with product, testing/QA to find the edge case unhappy paths, and ensure quality of our roaming experience is continually uplevel.
- Escalations and troubleshooting. Take ownership of roaming-specific partner and customer escalations, working with Support, Product, and Engineering to triage and resolve issues.
What we are looking for
- 8-10+ years in an analytical, operational, or commercial leadership role in tech, consulting, telecom, or a fast-paced startup, with a track record of owning strategy end-to-end.
- Experience owning a P&L or leading a team is a strong plus. This role has a clearly laid out evolution path to Head of Roaming, with team and P&L ownership, as the vertical scales.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Comfortable with spreadsheets and picking up new tools quickly (Notion, Lightdash or Looker, SQL is a plus).
- Clear written and verbal communication, including coordinating directly with external providers as well as internal cross-functional teams.
- Proactive, hands-on mindset. Willing to get into the weeds of provider portals, spreadsheets, and test devices to get things done.
- Interest in telecom, roaming, or connectivity is a plus, but curiosity and a bias for execution matter more.
