Gigged AI is an open talent marketplace specialising in the IT and technology sector, offering a hybrid role for a Finance Transaction Analyst. This position will require the candidate to work 3 days per week from the Glasgow City Centre Office. The initial contract is 4 months with the possibility of extension or a transition to permanent employment. The start date is ASAP, with a day rate of £400 and IR35 status outside IR35.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Finance Transactions Analyst to join our Finance Operations function. In this role, the analyst will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of daily financial transactions across multiple payment systems, ensuring all corresponding postings are correctly recorded within the general ledger.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process financial transactions accurately and within agreed service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and controls relating to Financial Crime and Fraud prevention
  • Support Reconciliation Analysts in investigating and resolving cash-at-bank reconciliation discrepancies
  • Create and maintain accurate general ledger postings associated with transaction processing activities
  • Provide ad hoc support to the wider Finance Operations team, including participation in project and change initiatives
  • Assist the Financial Reporting team with non-technical reporting requirements and statutory reporting activities
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, control, and documentation across all activities.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience within a transaction processing, execution, settlement, or operations function in a financial services environment
  • Working knowledge of double-entry accounting principles
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, IF statements and other commonly used formulas
  • Experience processing transactions through ERP systems such as Oracle NetSuite or similar platforms
  • Experience working directly with banking platforms, including processing ad hoc payments and transfers
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working under pressure and managing competing priorities.

  • Experience supporting change management initiatives and process improvement projects
  • Exposure to reconciliation activities and financial controls within a regulated financial services environment
  • Knowledge of finance operations best practices and transaction lifecycle processes
