We are seeking a Cloud Architect/Integration Specialist (Azure) to modernise our client onboarding platform with a cloud‑based, API‑driven architecture on Microsoft Azure. The solution will integrate securely with existing on‑premise systems using a hybrid integration model with a critical focus on an on‑premise API Gateway / Reverse Proxy.
Location: Scotland
Duration: final delivery by end of February; guidance on milestones/steps needed to get this over the line
Budget: £12,500 (estimated)
Overview: We want to modernise our client onboarding platform by introducing a cloud-based, API-driven architecture built on Microsoft Azure. The new solution will integrate securely with existing on‑premise systems, using a hybrid integration model with a critical focus on an on‑premise API Gateway / Reverse Proxy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rapidly evaluate and select technologies for cloud/on‑prem integration
- Design a secure, scalable on‑prem architecture
- Implement key components including API Gateway and routing
- Enable safe, auditable interaction with on‑prem legacy APIs via a reverse proxy
- Deliver working onboarding integrations, with supporting documentation
- Equip the internal team to maintain and evolve the solution
Current State:
- On‑premise systems with limited cloud presence
- Microsoft tech stack: C#, SQL Server, some existing APIs
- Legacy APIs serve customer/account-related operations
- Existing legacy APIs have limited authentication
Skills & Experience:
- Strong background in cloud architecture (Azure preferred)
- Experience with hybrid integrations and secure API design
- Hands‑on experience with gateway/reverse proxy technologies
- Knowledge of Microsoft tech stack (C#, SQL Server) beneficial
