About us

At Gigawatt Industries, we’re not just installing EV chargers, we’re helping build the future of transport. As one of the UK’s fastest-growing EV infrastructure specialists, we deliver large-scale commercial and industrial charging projects for some of the country’s biggest organisations. Demand is growing rapidly, so we’re expanding our teams and looking for talented, driven people who want to be part of something exciting.

The role

This is a hands-on, skilled role supporting our civils teams: trenching and excavation for HV/LV cable routes, installing ducts and drawpits, assisting with foundation works and reinstating surfaces, all to DNO/IDNO specifications. You’ll work under supervision alongside experienced groundworkers and machine operators, developing your skills with a view to progressing into higher roles as Gigawatt grows. • Support trenching and excavation works for HV/LV cable routes.
  • Assist with installing ducts, drawpits and feeder pillar bases.
  • Help construct and finish substation and charger bases.
  • Carry out reinstatement works (tarmac, paving, concrete and soft ground).
  • Operate tools, plant and equipment safely under supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and compliant worksite at all times.
  • Follow RAMS, permits-to-dig and site safety requirements.
  • Develop skills with a view to progressing into higher roles.

Essential

  • CSCS card.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Cat & Genny (Cable Avoidance Tool training).
  • SWQR (Street Works Qualification Register).
  • NPORS / CPCS tickets such as Dumper, Roller or Excavator.
  • Previous experience in utilities, highways or construction works.
  • Exposure to EV charging or substation projects.

What you'll get

  • Accommodation provided when working away.
  • Breakfast and evening meal allowances.
  • Weekly pay (every Friday).
  • Overtime opportunities available.
  • Vehicle provided for the team.
  • Company pension.
  • Free or on-site parking.

Who you are

You’re experienced in supporting groundworks or utility projects. You’re physically fit, safety-conscious and reliable. You hold or are willing to gain further tickets (SWQR, Cat & Genny, NPORS/CPCS). You’re flexible and willing to work nationwide, away from home (accommodation provided). You’re ambitious to progress into Groundworker / Machine Operator or Team Leader roles as Gigawatt grows.

No recruitment agencies, please.
