Grow our Fleet EV proposition. Specify the power, win the work, and be the person who turns a depot or fleet’s charging ambition into a specified, deliverable scheme.
Gigawatt Industries is a fast-growing Independent Connections Provider (ICP) powering the UK’s energy transition. We design and deliver the low and high (11kV) connections that link the distribution grid to new developments, industrial and commercial customers, data centres and ultra-rapid EV charging hubs, and we install the EV charging and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) that sit behind them. We take projects from concept and DNO/IDNO approvals through to installation and commissioning, all across the UK.,We have an established reputation and are scaling up with big ambitions. We have an culture to match: dynamic, commercially focused and refreshingly free from corporate red tape. Decision-makers are accessible, good ideas are quickly enacted, and the work has a genuine impact on how the country powers its future. This is a role where you are empowered to make a difference from day one.
The role
This is a rare role for a technically minded person who wants to shape and sell real solutions, not just hit a target. As Technical Solutions Manager for Fleet EV Charging you will grow our Fleet EV charging proposition: targeting new markets, winning new clients, and being the person who turns a depot or fleet’s charging ambition into a specified, deliverable scheme.
You will be client-facing from day one, attending site surveys, understanding each operator’s vehicles, duty cycles and power needs, and specifying the right charging and power solution. You will scope the grid connection and infrastructure required, and work hand in hand with our estimating and design teams to price and win well-scoped, margin-sound work.
Sales here is about driving the future direction of the business, led by technical credibility. If you understand power and EV charging and enjoy being in front of clients, this role lets you use that expertise to open markets and build a proposition as we scale. We embrace technology and AI to work smarter and respond faster, without ever losing the human touch.
You will report to the Development Director.
Key responsibilities
- Proposition growth: develop and grow our Fleet and depot EV charging proposition, targeting new markets, sectors and clients.
- Technical solutioning: attend site surveys, assess each site’s power availability and constraints, and specify the charging hardware (AC/DC) and power solution to suit the fleet’s vehicles and duty cycles.
- Grid and infrastructure scoping: identify the grid connection, protection and infrastructure requirements, and feed these into the design and estimating process.
- Client ownership: build trusted relationships with fleet operators, CPOs and commercial clients, leading technical and commercial conversations and site meetings.
- Winning work: work with estimating and design to price and quote accurately, and drive each opportunity to a won order at target margin.
- Pipeline: own an accurate, current pipeline and forecast, and run proactive prospecting to grow new and repeat business.
- Representation: represent Gigawatt with clients, at sites and events, and through your professional network and LinkedIn.
- Right to work in the UK; we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
- Full UK driving licence, for regular client and site visits.
- A solid technical understanding of electrical power and/or EV charging, for example power supplies, loads, AC/DC charging, switchgear, cabling or protection.
- Confidence in a client-facing setting, able to lead site surveys and explain technical solutions clearly to non-technical clients.
- A commercial mindset: an interest in winning work, scoping solutions and understanding cost, competitiveness and risk.
- A self-starting, solution-oriented attitude, and enthusiasm for adopting AI and digital tools to work smarter.
- Experience in EV charging, fleet/depot charging, or wider utility and energy infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of ICP and HV/LV connections, and the DNO/IDNO connection process, or a demonstrable drive to build it quickly.
- Experience specifying charging or power equipment, or producing technical designs or reports.
- Business development, pre-sales or account management experience, or an established network among fleet operators, CPOs, developers or consultants.
What you'll get
- Competitive salary depending on experience, plus car allowance.
- The autonomy to shape a proposition, your pipeline and the future direction of our Fleet EV offer.
- A genuine growth journey with a scale-up making real impact on the UK’s energy transition.
- Pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Hybrid working, with travel to client sites where required.
- Access to ongoing training and professional development.
- A fast-moving, modern culture with direct access to decision-makers and the tools to do your best work.
