Grid, EV, fleet and battery storage. Power the UK’s energy transition by building client relationships, winning new work and growing a healthy pipeline, backed by experienced estimating, design and senior commercial colleagues.
Gigawatt Industries is a fast-growing Independent Connections Provider (ICP) powering the UK’s energy transition. We design and deliver the low and high (11kV) connections that link the distribution grid to new developments, industrial and commercial customers, data centres and ultra-rapid EV charging hubs, and we install the EV charging and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) that sit behind them. We take projects from concept and DNO/IDNO approvals through to installation and commissioning, all across the UK.,We have an established reputation and are scaling up with big ambitions. We have a culture to match: dynamic, commercially focused and refreshingly free from corporate red tape. Decision-makers are accessible, good ideas are quickly enacted, and the work has a genuine impact on how the country powers its future. This is a role where you are empowered to make a difference from day one.
The role
This is a brilliant opportunity to build a business development career at a company that is going places. As Business Development Manager you will manage client relationships, win new work and grow a healthy pipeline across grid connections, EV charging, fleet and battery storage, backed by experienced estimating, design and senior commercial colleagues who help you learn fast and move at pace.
You will be out in the market: generating enquiries, qualifying opportunities, pricing and quoting with support, and representing Gigawatt with clients, at sites and events, and through your professional network and LinkedIn. If you are ambitious, enjoy winning work and want the room to grow into a bigger role as we scale, you will thrive here.
We are building a best-in-class client experience by embracing technology and AI to work smarter, respond faster and quote sharper, without ever losing the human touch. We are looking for someone genuinely excited to use these tools to give clients a better experience as we grow.
You will report to the Development Director.

- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence talking to clients.
- A self-starting, solution-oriented attitude, and enthusiasm for adopting AI and digital tools to work smarter.
- Direct experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and/or commercial fleet and depot electrification. This is where you will add the most value to us.
- An understanding of what larger-scale BESS or fleet/depot charging projects require: grid capacity, HV/LV connections and the DNO/IDNO process.
- A track record of qualifying opportunities and supporting cost models and quotations on complex, higher-value schemes.
What you'll get
- Salary of £45,000–£55,000 per annum, plus car allowance.
