Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Development:
    • Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of fire engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
    • Drive recruitment, training, and development initiatives to build a highly skilled and cohesive team.
    • Act as the primary point of technical authority on fire engineering for the London office.
  • Strategic Project Management:
    • Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of fire engineering solutions across complex, large-scale projects.

  • Client Engagement & Business Development:
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the lead fire engineering expert and advisor.
    • Support business development efforts, contributing to proposals and actively seeking opportunities to expand the firm’s fire engineering portfolio.
    • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities, building a presence as a thought leader in fire engineering.
  • Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure all fire engineering designs and solutions meet or exceed industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
    • Conduct peer reviews and quality assurance checks on deliverables, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
    • Manage relationships with regulatory authorities, securing necessary approvals for project designs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fire Engineering or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in fire engineering, with a proven track record of leadership on high-impact projects.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) is preferred, with professional membership in IFE or a similar body.
  • Expertise in fire safety standards and codes (BS, EN, NFPA), with knowledge of UK and international regulations.
  • Proficiency in fire modelling software (e.g., FDS, PyroSim) and familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills.
  • A strategic thinker with a strong commercial awareness and business development acumen.
