Essential salary: £28,000 to £32,000, dependent on fibre experience and qualifications (e.g., PIA Underground, Overhead H&S, Fibre Installations).

Reporting to the Operations Manager and Senior Technician, the Field Engineer will handle a variety of tasks involved in customer installation, including traditional civils/ buried and PIA PON underground and overhead.

Key Accountability & Responsibilities
  • Delivery of allocated work programmes, working with stakeholders to deliver on time, safely and to standard.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and carry out installations.
  • Provide a first‑class customer service.
  • Manage any customer complaints, working to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure own and team's assurance across quality and Health & Safety standards.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Previous Telecoms installations experience, ideally fibre optic networks (FTTH / FTTP).
  • Previous knowledge of field civils specifications desirable – e.g., NRSWA.
  • Experience delivering to pre‑defined project schedules.
  • Able to understand, interpret and adhere to risk & method assessments.
Qualifications & Accreditations
  • Full driving licence (manual), held for 12 months+.
  • DBS check (or ability to pass).
  • Ideally already hold a NRSWA Operative accreditation.
