Responsibilities
- We are keen to speak to those that love to research and explore; you may not always know the answers straight away, but you are someone who loves the challenge in finding out.
- You will be part of a team ensuring the existing is maintained, reliable, resilient, and secure, and our applications are installed and operating smoothly, whilst mentoring other, less experienced engineers in the team.
- We are keen to speak to people with strong Linux administration backgrounds to manage existing Linux based servers, both on-prem and cloud hosted, including management of the deployment of security patches, distribution upgrades and configuration management, installation/configuration/operation of the applications running on the servers.
- You will be looking for an opportunity that gives you exposure to projects such as building a virtualisation platform, how solutions such as Kubernetes can be used in a hybrid on-prem/public cloud environment, and a role where Infrastructure as Code is the default go to (Ansible / Terraform).
Note: this role is part of the 24/7 on-call rota, although call outs are rare this would be 1 in 4 and is remunerated separately.
