Gifford and Partners are working exclusively with a Harrogate based manufacturing business to target a high-calibre, practice-trained accountant to join in the role of Group Accountant. This role offers a rare opportunity to move into a highly visible Group Finance position, working closely with senior leadership and supporting the financial reporting of this high-growth and complex business.
The position would particularly suit an ACA/ACCA wishing to embark on their first move into industry, likely from Big 4, Top 10 or a mid-tier firm, as this is a business that is fast becoming a complex animal with UK and overseas interests.
Working amongst a high-performing but relatively small Finance team, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high quality financial reporting, consolidation and governance across multiple entities. You will work closely with the CFO and FC, supporting the delivery of robust financial information and contributing to the continued development of the group's financial processes and controls.
- Production of the Group's financial statements
- Reviewing monthly management accounts from subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and clear explanation of financial performance
- Quarterly group financial reporting and consolidated financial statements
- Improve working capital management, cash flow oversight and financial governance
- Projects including acquisitions, integrations and finance process improvements
- Working closely with the wider business and teams in legal, commercial finance, tax, and treasury
Essentially you will be qualified ACA / ACCA / ICAS qualified with exposure to mid/large sized evolving businesses. A strong grounding of IFRS and financial reporting, excellent analytical skills and ability to communicate financial information clearly to senior stakeholders.
This role will support a business on a high growth trajectory, navigating obstacles that include new markets and regions, strategic acquisitions, ERP evolutions. A business that will place you right in the middle of its journey in a role that will help cultivate and ready the business for each and every next step, adding value, partnering with significant stakeholders, investing and supporting you every step of the way!
