Are you a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys systems, reporting transformation and making numbers genuinely useful to senior leaders? Gifford and Partners are working on behalf of a well-established and growing Yorkshire business seeking an experienced Project Accountant to lead a high-impact finance systems project over the next six months. This is not a routine reporting role. It is a hands-on opportunity to help modernise how finance data is captured, interpreted and presented across the business.
You will play a key role in implementing IBM Planning Analytics (the revolution of Cognos TM1), helping migrate data from a legacy platform, redesign reports, improve planning models and create clearer, smarter insight for senior financial and operational stakeholders.
What you will be doing:
- Lead the rollout and implementation of IBM Planning Analytics (IBM PA)
- Extract and transition reporting data from legacy systems
- Build improved weekly and monthly reporting packs
- Support budgeting and forecasting models within the new platform
- Create logic-driven dashboards and meaningful management reports
- Partner with Finance, IT and operational leaders to define needs
- Test data outputs, validate accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Train end users and support adoption across the business
- Deliver the project to agreed timelines and milestones
What we are looking for:
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA / AAT considered)
- Experience within FP&A, commercial finance, project accounting or finance systems
- Exposure to IBM Planning Analytics, Cognos, SAP BPC, Hyperion, Anaplan or similar tools
- Strong reporting, modelling and data interpretation skills
- Able to communicate with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- A proactive contractor mindset who can add value quickly
Why consider this role?
- High-profile transformation project with visible impact
- Broad stakeholder exposure across finance and operations
- Chance to shape reporting rather than maintain it
- Immediate value-add assignment for an experienced interim professional
If you enjoy turning data into decision-ready insight and want a contract where you can genuinely make a difference, please get in touch with the team at Gifford and Partners immediately.
