Purpose of the role
A Sales and Uniform Ambassador combines retail sales, customer service, and technical garment fitting expertise to promote the brand. The role supports and upholds the prestigious values the Royal Warrants symbolize, serving as a key ambassador offering impeccable service to military customers while representing the House of Gieves & Hawkes. It also supports the Head of Military with growth and development of the Made‑to‑Measure program, drives sales, and delivers exceptional customer service within the Military department.
Job Description – Key Role Accountabilities
- Provide customer uniform fitting service through Military MTM.
- Provide customer service and support for Military uniform alterations.
- Travel to Military bases and stations for trade fairs and customer fittings.
- Support department manager with VIP accounts as necessary.
- Support manager as point of contact and customer services with Bespoke customers.
- Support scheduling diary for MTM fittings and appointments.
- Manage and support telephone and email orders/exqueries.
- Manage and support Military walk‑in service, fitting and sales.
- Support and administrate stock buy requirements.
- Develop and maintain contact library – suppliers, partners, services.
- Develop, maintain and support regulation library – print and digital.
Qualifications – Key Requirements & Skills
- Tailoring expertise: Proficiency in measuring, marking and altering garments – Preferred.
- Attention to detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure uniforms adhere to strict military regulations and standards – Essential.
- Customer service: Ability to interact with Military personnel at all levels to discuss various fittings and requirements – Essential.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills – Essential.
- Good time management and organisational skills – Essential.
- Competent with Word, Outlook and Excel – Essential.
- A knowledge or interest in military uniforms – Preferred.
- Driving license – Preferred.
