Location: Set on the upper reaches of the River Teign, the 24‑bedroom Gidleigh Park enjoys an exquisite location on the very edge of Dartmoor National Park in Devon. With 5 AA red stars, a Michelin‑starred restaurant and as a member of Relais & Châteaux, Gidleigh Park is widely recognised as one of the best hotels and restaurants in the UK, offering learning and development opportunities few others can provide. The hotel may also offer on‑site staff accommodation to help new team members relocate and settle in, and provides free on‑site parking.
SERVICE CHARGE: We pay our team service charge each month. This service charge goes into one pot, and 100% of that is shared amongst all team members at the hotel. The service charge can be in the region of £395 a month (close to £4,750 per year) over and above base pay for a full‑time employee.

As an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, you will work with our Food & Beverage Manager to lead our restaurant team and ensure we always provide exceptional service to our guests, helping them make memories that last a lifetime.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Michelin‑starred service standards, ensuring every guest receives an exceptional dining experience that consistently exceeds expectations.
- Maintain a visible leadership presence throughout service, ensuring smooth operations, seamless guest journeys, and effective team coordination.
- Support the recruitment, training, coaching, and performance development of the restaurant team, creating a culture of excellence and attention to detail.
- Demonstrate and promote exceptional food, wine, and beverage knowledge, confidently guiding guests through menus.
- Uphold the restaurant’s ambience by overseeing cleanliness, lighting, music, temperature, and overall presentation in line with service requirements.
- Monitor financial controls, including revenue management, billing accuracy, stock control, and cost awareness to support profitability targets.
- Build strong relationships with guests, handling feedback professionally and creating opportunities for repeat business and guest loyalty.
- Collaborate closely with the Restaurant Manager and wider management team to maintain service standards, ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, and deliver operational excellence.
