GIC Private Equity We deploy capital in areas where we can utilize our comparative advantages, namely, a long investment horizon, global presence, sector expertise, as well as skilled, and experienced teams. Sustainability Solutions Group (SSG) SSG invests in growth and buyout stage opportunities across the sustainability and energy transition sectors. SSG focuses on investing in (i) growth equity financings, (ii) mid-market buyouts, and (iii) asset-level financings across the sustainability and energy transition sectors. While the group primarily focuses on making direct investments, it also selectively invests in top-tier sustainability funds. SSG is a global team, with a presence in San Francisco, London, Singapore, and Sao Paolo. What impact can you make in this role? You will be part of a team that is one of the largest, and most established private equity investors in the world today. SSG is a newer group within the larger Private Equity strategies at GIC, presenting the opportunity to join a growing team tackling opportunities in energy transition and sustainability. We are a lean team, and as such, deal team members can expect to see a wide array of transaction opportunities across the sustainability sector. This role is structured as a three-year contract as part of our Associate programme. What will you do as an Associate? Evaluate growth and buyout investment opportunities in the sustainability sector through financial and commercial due diligence, including financial analysis and modelling, management team engagement, customer and reference interviews, market research, and competitive analysis; Work as a key member of small deal teams to assess and execute investments across various strategies, industries and subsectors within sustainability; Prepare investment presentations, memos and proposals, and present key findings to investment committee; Monitor and support the investment portfolio; Conduct deep dives and market studies to identify attractive investment themes and targets; Represent GIC at sustainability fund managers’ annual investor meetings and participate in meetings with leaders of key fund relationships. What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role? Relevant years of prior investment banking or investing experience. Academic record demonstrating excellence Demonstratable interest or experience in sustainability is highly desirable. Extensive and competent financial modeling capabilities. Excellent presence and communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong commercial judgement and interest in investing. Team player and enjoys working in a collaborative environment. Well-organized, hard-working, self-starter, with an ability to work independently.
