Associate, Private Credit
GIC is one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds. The Private Credit Group focuses on direct lending investments in senior and subordinated debt instruments for sponsor‑owned companies worldwide.
What you will do
- Source, evaluate and execute investments in senior and subordinated debt instruments, leading due diligence, building financial models, and screening opportunities.
- Participate in portfolio management, monitoring existing positions, valuing incremental debt, and negotiating term‑amendments.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful execution of investment strategies, and occasionally contribute to special projects.
- Manage the full investment process from deal sourcing and evaluation to portfolio monitoring.
What makes you a successful candidate
- Curious and inquisitive mindset with a passion for understanding businesses and analysing legal documentation.
- Strong academic background; a bachelor’s degree is the minimum requirement, with practical experience also acceptable.
- Demonstrated success in previous finance roles.
- Hands‑on transaction experience and proficient financial modelling skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional work ethic and a collaborative, flexible approach to teamwork.
- Experience in deal execution, including negotiation, structuring, pricing, due diligence and legal closing, is a plus.
- Relevant experience in a leading investment bank’s M&A or leveraged finance team, a specialist restructuring or debt advisory firm, or a credit investment firm.
Contract Details
This role is a three‑year contract as part of our Associate programme.
