GIC Global Investment Services (GIS) manages deal structuring, due diligence and closing. We provide financial operations to GIC’s private equity, infrastructure, real estate assets, equities and fixed income, as well as tax structuring, corporate holding structures, valuations, and financial reporting. We strive to support business groups with digital capabilities and deliver environmental, social and governance focused capabilities, and market expertise.
Tax support will be provided to the GIC group and investments made by GIC, covering enterprise tax, public markets, and private markets tax.
Responsibilities:
- Tax support to Private Market asset classes in Asia-Pacific, delivering early-stage tax support as investment teams explore new opportunities.
- Facilitating preparatory work with external advisors to determine the availability of preferred tax structuring alternatives.
- Providing direct support to investment teams in complex situations to ensure tax risks and opportunities are well understood.
- Maintaining tax knowledge pertinent to asset classes that invest across Europe, particularly private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and credit investments.
- Supporting, negotiating and reviewing legal documents including LPAs and tax side letters.
- Collaborating with investment teams and other Corporate Services departments to ensure ongoing tax management of investments across Europe meets GIC’s needs.
- Supporting the Tax team’s work to advance tax strategic initiatives in Europe and globally.
- Maintaining constructive relationships with key government authorities and tax departments of peer organizations in Europe.
- Contributing knowledge of GIC’s European tax issues to the delivery of tax risk reporting to key stakeholders.
- Assisting the tax compliance team in interfacing with European investment departments to ensure GIC’s tax compliance obligations are met.
- Building and maintaining strong cross-functional relationships with key individuals across all other GIC departments.
Qualifications or skills required:
- Relevant and credible international tax experience.
- An accounting/commerce degree with tax knowledge and/or holds a relevant professional qualification in tax, accountancy or law.
- A strong team player who displays teamwork and collaboration.
- A strong communicator who can adapt their communication style to different audiences.
- Demonstrates strong writing, analytical and oral presentation skills.
- Has strong organisational/project management skills and the ability to progress multiple assignments independently and efficiently.
- Demonstrates personal initiative, strives to innovate and build best practices.
