At Gibson’s Engineering, our mission is clear: to design, engineer and produce cutting-edge trains that redefine the standards of safety, efficiency and sustainability within the industry. Due to securing a contract with one of the countries leading transport providers, we have a number of roles we are looking to fill.

We are looking to recruit experienced Welder/Fabricators to work at our Glasgow depot. These will be full-time roles, and as well as continuous work, we can offer an immediate start.

The job will involve:

  • Performing MIG and TIG welding and fabrication tasks on various materials including Aluminium
  • Delivering high-quality welding and fabrication work in line with instructions from Supervisors and the Production Manager
  • Complying with all Health & Safety regulations and internal policies, including proper use of PPE
  • Interpreting drawings and taking precise measurements
  • Operating hand tools, power tools and machinery, i.e. bandsaws/metalworker for cutting, grinding, and shaping metal
  • Fabricating components from sheet metal according to technical drawings

Skills:

  • Proficient in welding techniques, particularly MIG welding
  • Strong mechanical knowledge to assemble fabricated parts accurately
  • Ability to perform basic maths calculations for measurements

Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with standards. Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
