Gibson’s Engineering, a leading train manufacturing, maintenance and repairs facility based at the world famous St Rollox rail depot in Springburn, Glasgow. As a premier train manufacturing, maintenance and repair firm, we pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence, technological prowess and dedication to advancing the future of rail transportation.
Due to securing a contract with one of the countries leading transport providers, we have a number of highly skilled roles we are looking to fill. We are looking to recruit experienced Spray Painters to work at our Glasgow depot. These will be full-time roles, and as well as continuous work, we can offer an immediate start.
Job Duties:
- Preparing carriages for paintwork
- Masking in preparation for paintwork
- Carrying out minor damage repairs
- Polishing to remove defects from paintwork
- Mixing paint to apply to carriages
- Applying paint products correctly and to a high standard
- Working in a spray booth to ensure paint is confined to the specific areas
- Inspect surfaces for contamination, damage, or imperfections
- Clean and degrease surfaces to be painted
- Scrape and sand surfaces to remove imperfections
- Fill cracks, dents, or other imperfections with appropriate filling material
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Candidates must be time served with previous experience of working as a spray painter/prepper in a professional workshop with knowledge of different surface preparation techniques.
