Role Description

The home carer role required you to visit people in their homes throughout Levenmouth. The responsibilities include assisting with personal care, medication prompts, meal preparation, and supporting individuals with daily living tasks The role involves monitoring wellbeing, documenting care activities accurately, and communicating effectively with colleagues, senior carers, and members of the wider multi disciplinary. Home Carers are expected to promote independence, dignity, and choice, follow care plans and company policies, and participate in training to maintain and enhance care standards.

Skills and abilities

• Ability to provide compassionate, person centered care and support, respecting dignity, privacy, and individual preferences.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trust with service users, families, and colleagues.
• Good organisational and time management skills, with attention to detail when following care plans and recording information.
• Basic IT and record keeping skills to complete electronic and paper care documentation accurately.
• Maintain SSSC registration including attending all mandatory training and meeting any condition of registration and completing annual declaration when required. (funding may be available to compelete an svq in social services and healthcare to meet a condition of registration)
• Reliability and flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required by service needs.
• Previous experience in care or support work is beneficial but not essential where a willingness to learn is demonstrated and values align with those of the organisation.
