Pioneer Safety Group companies provide a wide range of products and services, including explosion protection solutions for the materials handling industry, oil and gas engine kits, fork lift conversions and gas detection for vehicles. We're looking for an Electrical Assembly Fitter who has strong mechanical skills (70/30 elec/mech) to support the electro‑mechanical build of our product packages, including engine and forklift truck conversions.
Working in a newly created team of 3, you'll work on sub assembly, looms, carry out re‑commissioning work and de‑commissioning, be able to fault find and rectify, ensuring all builds meet quality and Ex standards, and complete component testing and be confident to work on your own projects.
What you'll do as an Electrical Assembly Fitter:
- Follow build processes and all health & safety requirements
- Read and interpret drawings, wiring diagrams and work instructions
- Complete builds to the correct standards and carry out quality checks
- Record build, quality and compliance data using the tools provided
- Work to planned timescales and flag issues affecting production
- Complete documentation and timesheets accurately
- Support continuous improvement and follow ISO9001 processes
- Keep the workspace clean and safe in line with 5S standards
- Be available to train for approximately 4 weeks at our main site in Shoreham by Sea, near Brighton, Monday to Friday lunchtime
What you'll need as an Electrical Assembly Fitter:
Essential:
- Experience as an electro‑mechanical fitter
- Ability to read drawings and wiring diagrams
- Good numeracy, literacy and basic IT skills
- Experience with cranes, manual handling and lifting equipment
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role
- Proactive, flexible and a strong team player
- Willingness to work overtime when required
Desirable:
- Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
- Knowledge of engine build packages
- FLT licence (not essential)
- Experience in target‑driven team environments
- Problem‑solving skills and awareness of quality and H&S
We offer:
A basic salary of £31,250 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience) and a working week of (Apply online only) Monday to Thursday, finishing at 1200 Fridays. Benefits package includes 25 days holiday plus Bank holidays, retailer discounts, health cash plan, 5% employer pension contribution, bonus scheme, life assurance and employee assistance programme.
