National Civil Engineering contractor who, due to the award of a prestigious new contract, have a requirement for an additional Setting Out Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This 4-year project is close to Inverness and, while in the Power sector, Setting Out Engineers from any Civil Engineering/Groundworks discipline are encouraged to apply.
Role & Responsibilities:
- To deliver setting out works on ongoing contracts, ensuring that they operate within cost, productivity, Quality and Health, Safety and Environment targets.
- Ensure contracts are delivered safely on time, within budget and to programme.
- Maintain a good relationship with clients to avoid disputes.
- Have a high level of commercial awareness related to the works.
- Assure that all work is carried out to company safety, environmental, and Quality standards and to regularly communicate with staff and operatives.
- Carry out Safety Audits as required by line management.
- Liaise with & manage sub-contractors to ensure their strict adherence of the company Health, Safety and Environment policy and Quality standards.
- Ensure that all operations carried out within your area of responsibility are undertaken with full regard for safety of visitors, other members of staff and yourself.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering projects.
- HND/Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Appropriate knowledge of health and safety policies.
- Understanding of modern setting out equipment.
- Have good working knowledge of IT systems, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
- Practice of prioritising time critical work.
- Excellent communication and liaison skills.
