An established main contractor who, due to a period of sustained growth, have a requirement for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. This could be a qualified Quantity Surveyor with a few years post-graduate experience, or an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor keen to progress. This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding business who can offer real career progression opportunities and have a demonstrable track record of promoting from within.
The successful candidate could be expected to fulfil the following duties:
- Assisting on Sub-Contract agreements maximising profit
- Attending, contributing to, and minuting Internal Team Meetings
- Keeping master files of correspondence on contract
- Preparing Interim Valuations with Senior Surveyor and agreeing amounts for payment
- Informing Sub-Contractors of Contract variations
- Valuing variations
- Pricing
- Reporting to Senior Surveyor on job performance via cost/value comparisons
- Preparing Surveying Reports
The successful candidate will possess:
- BSc Quantity Surveying
- Relevant industry experience
- Good analytical & problem-solving skills
- A methodical approach
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in relevant computer programmes (Microsoft Word, Excel etc.)
